Auto review: Checking boxes with the 2025 Audi Q5
Published in Business News
Audi enters Grasso’s Garage for the first time this year with its historically proven 2025 Audi Q5, a mid-size luxury five-seat SUV. Wrapped in Navarra Blue Metallic, our Q5 Prestige Quattro tester was appealing, comfortable and sporty.
Powering the Audi Q5 is a 2.0-liter TFSI inline four-cylinder engine, paired with a seven-speed S-tronic transmission with all-wheel drive and standard 18-inch wheels. The array of standard technology features included traffic sign recognition, park assist plus, integrated toll module and auto-dimming interior mirror. Additionally, standard on our week-long test was Navigation plus, a 11.9-inch virtual cockpit, SiriusXM radio and wireless charging pad.
Our Prestige model offered an array of additional options such as 19-inch wheels, run-flat tires, adaptive cruise control, Bang & Olufsen sound system, OLED taillights, head-up display, LED headlights and panoramic sunroof, totaling an $8,400 increase. Our tester also upgraded the wheels to 20-inch, 5-arm wheels for an additional $800. The Pearl Beige interior was certainly nice and comfortable.
Audi is Volkswagen’s sport-luxury brand, and the Q5's comfort was good, but wasn’t as plush as VW’s upscale brand Porsche. In its niche between the mass-market VW brand and Porsche, the Audi Q5 bears characteristics of both brands. The styling is what sets the Q5 apart: It has great curb-appeal and good design and aesthetics. Although a competing vehicle, the Volvo XC60, is in another league, the Audi Q5 boasts great sportiness and a nice interior. It's well worth the $50K plus base price and is a realistic option for consumers in the mid-size luxury SUV category.
