Virginia Giuffre’s family celebrated Prince Andrew’s ouster from royal life over his alleged ties to disgraced financier and sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, vowing that their fight for justice will continue.

“Today, an ordinary American girl from an ordinary American family brought down a British prince with her truth and extraordinary courage,” her brother, Sky Roberts, and his wife, Amanda Roberts, said in a statement to People.

“Virginia Roberts Giuffre, our sister, a child when she was sexually assaulted by Andrew, never stopped fighting for accountability for what had happened to her and to countless other survivors like her,” it continued. “Today, she declares victory.”

King Charles earlier this week stripped his disgraced brother Prince Andrew of his remaining titles and evicted him from his royal residence amid uproar over his rumored friendship with Epstein, who died by suicide while awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges in 2019.

“His Majesty has today initiated a formal process to remove the Style, Titles and Honors of Prince Andrew,” the palace said, adding that he will now be known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor.

The announcement came days after the release of Giuffre’s posthumous memoir, which offered additional insight into her past sexual abuse allegations against Prince Andrew. She described one instance when he correctly guessed that she was only 17 years old before convicted sex offender Ghislaine Maxwell allegedly told her to have sex with him. Giuffre said Epstein later paid her $15,000 for “servicing the man the tabloids called ‘Randy Andy.'”

Giuffre’s family says that they, along with Virginia’s “survivor sisters,” will continue her battle and “will not rest until the same accountability applies to all of the abusers and abettors connected to Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell.”

Prince Andrew has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing.

Roberts during an interview with BBC called the news “bittersweet.” Giuffre died by suicide in April at age 41.
