Teddi Mellencamp is in remission, just over a year after she was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer.

The former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star had been battling a "nervous, raging anxiety" after doctors decided to stop giving her monthly scans to check how her body was responding to immunotherapy but this week, she underwent checks after a three-month break, and was delighted to receive very positive news.

She said in an Instagram video: "So ever since I was diagnosed with stage four cancer, I get immunotherapy monthly.

"And I was getting CAT scans and MRIs monthly, but this past time, they decided they're going to wait three to four months in between the test. This has created such a nervous, raging anxiety inside of me...

"I keep crying. I want to be one of those people who says they're positive all the time but I'm really scared. It's also really lonely. I've just hit that point where I'm just exhausted."

Teddi - who has Slate, 12, Cruz, 11 and Dove, six, with estranged husband Edwin Arroyave - then revealed the outcome of her meeting with the doctor.

The doctor said: "The scans show no evidence of tumour in your body.

"When you came, you had tumours in your brain and in your lungs. We don't see those now. There's evidence that you had treatment and there's evidence that immunotherapy has helped you.

"Does that mean you're in remission? Yes, remission is a very nebulous word. If people asked me to tell them how I would speak to your benefit. I would say the following, you had the best outcome we could hope for."

The medic noted Teddi still needed to deal with the side effects from immunotherapy.

But he added: "As we move forward, the longer you stay in this state, the better for you."

Teddi was diagnosed with stage two melanoma in 2022 which later progressed to stage four after spreading to her lungs and brain, and the 44-year-old star ended her message with a "reminder" for fans.

She said: "Now I do my skin check because this is where it all started. This is also a reminder, you guys. Go get your skin checks."
